SureFire announces the smallest flashlight in the company product portfolio. The small but powerful Titan T1A is an evolution of the limited edition Titan flashlight that SureFire produced in 2006. The T1A's CNC-machined aircraft-grade aluminum body wraps around a single lithium CR123A battery for a total length of 3.25 inches. The body's rigid, yet forgiving aluminum construction is the perfect protection for an already nearly indestructible high-output LED. A Boroflat® lens provides cover for the LED while an O-ring keeps out the weather. The total package weighs just two ounces with battery. The standard tailcap switch has been replaced with an attachment for a lanyard or keychain. A potentiometer has been integrated into a rotating bezel which works like the volume knob on a stereo. It gives the user to select virtually any light output between zero and 70 lumens-over 1,000 possibilities-making the T1A a practical tool with tactical-level output. The LED produces a smooth, wide flood of light-ideal for close-to-medium range use-by refracting off the micro-textured reflector. The high-efficiency LED that produces one hour of runtime at the highest setting and 60 hours at the lowest. "SureFire introduced the world's first tactical flashlight, first dual-output flashlight, and the first LED flashlight with variable output levels," said Derek McDonald, vice president of marketing at SureFire. "The Titan revolutionized flashlights when we integrated a potentiometer. The T1A is an evolution of all of these innovations. It proves a flashlight is not just a simple tool." Like a fine watch, the Titan is equal parts style and functionality. Its satin hard-anodized black finish and sleek lines all add to its less-is-more styling and overall elegance.
